A true selvedge denim icon - this is the Cone Mills 1968. The most you can ask from a great selvedge denim is that it starts out beautiful and gets even better over time. As you can see from this well worn pair, the 1968 absolutely delivers.
Gustin jeans made from sanforized raw selvedge denim from Cone Mills. The 1968 was somewhat of a premium denim company darling. It was used by many and there's a reason for it. It sneaks up on you. It seems unassuming at first, but when you see the beautifully rich indigo shade and crisply starched raw feel you know you're touching classic quality. 20oz denim is cool. Super light denim is fun too. Let's face it, the 13.5oz sweet spot is a winner. It works year round and that's what you get in the 1968 - it has great body. We used this fabric as we were developing the skinny fit and knew we had to get our hands on more than just sample yardage. This is authentic, classic selvedge denim at its best.
This is the same style and quality that was sold in boutiques all over the country for $205+.

"American sewn jeans made with what could be the last of American Cone selvedge denim. I now have 4 pairs of the 1968. They fit true to size (no vanity sizing) and I wear the straight cut; which fit well over my cowboy boots. I have an athletic build (6'00", 180lbs, 33 waist, lean) and the seat and thighs, while fitted, give me the room I need (I could never wear skinny or low rise jeans) while being flattering. Amazing value."

"My first Gustin. I bought the Vintage Straight fit. Very good fabric, perfect weight for all seasons. Stitches are very nice. I would definitely give a five star if the front two pockets are a little deeper. The fact is, I can’t really sit down with my iPhone in the pocket. This kind of shallow front pockets are very typical of Japanese made jeans, but I didn’t expect that from a pair of American jeans."

"I am very satisfied with my 1968's which is aging beautifully. It deserves 5 stars."

"I love these jeans! The attention to detail with the red stitching in just the rights places and blue across the back pocket is really cool. I am not necessarily a slim build but I prefer the way the taper of that cut fits me. I was concerned when I first put them on as I didn't think I was going to be able to button them up, but as your website says they will be uncomfortable at first. I have been wearing them pretty much everyday for a week, and they feel great. I practically live in these jeans now. I love the natural color, but cant wait to see the fading over time. Amazing Jeans!"
